To Stress or Destress

Did you know that your body releases chemicals when you are stressed? Cortisol is one such chemical. Nothing wrong with it, when you are under acute stress. That cortisol helps your primal flight vs. fight mechanism to gear up. That's all fine and good, but what happens if you remain in that state, hour after hour, day after day? That, is not good. Those chemicals were not devised to stay in motion constantly. The answer? Start checking in with yourself and learn how to pull yourself down when the stress is over. No need to live in a constant stress state. Remember the importance of de-stressing and bringing yourself to a calm mood. It's worth it. Cortisol 24/7 is not a good thing! Teach yourself to take a break instead!
