Simplicity Values - 5 Ways to get rid of anger

Anger is a natural human emotion. Hanging onto it, or handling it in a hurtful way is not. Here are a few simple ways to work through anger and get it out in a way that is constructive!

1. Write it all down in a journal, or a letter. You can tear it up, edit it and send it off. Just use it to push all that anger out of you.

2. Burn it off. Get to the gym or run around the block or race up a staircase. Your anger will have nothing on you once you are done.

3. Talk it out. Constructively. Not in a "lets rehash this for the 15th time" way, but in a "how can I solve this" way.

4. Laugh it off. Just refuse to take it seriously. See the humor in the situation and laugh it off. Can't get there? Watch a favorite comedy or even a clip of a favorite and see what that does.

5. Take a time out. Go away for a bit. Just get out of your problem for a while. Call a friend, talk about other things. Take a walk in nature. Play with a child or a pet.

Try it and see how you feel with a little bit of energy, you will get more time and energy back by getting rid of anger!

Simplicity Quote of the Week

---------------------------------------
Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve... You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love...
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Service is a mindset. Every day we can serve and connect with each other. Each act of kindness strengthens our world and ourselves.

Have a good week.

Simplicity Values - Simple ways to start the New Year off right

---------------------------------------------------------

5 Ways to Make the New Year count

1. Get physcial. Get your body moving. Make it a habit to move your body, to get up and get what you need for yourself. Add steps into your day instead of deleting them.

2. Stop. Every couple of hours stop and regroup. Just take a brief time out in order to center yourself and remind yourself to restore.

3. Say it. Reach out the to people that matter to you. If you love someone, don't wait to say it. Tell the people who matter how much they do matter. Let 2009 be the year you say how you feel toward those you care about.

4. Prioretize. Decide what matters to you and begin to spend more time doing just that. No more days, weeks, years of "what if's." Decide what makes you happy and go there.

5. Let go. Stop being angry or worried about things that just don't matter. Focus, instead on the things that may you happy and at peace. Try and reduce your focus on the things that dishearten, anger or stress you.

Try these simple goals for creating a great New Year!
